This question is asked a lot of times on the reports, spreadsheets etc…
is there a typo in the hours / there is a typo in the hours! / you made a mistake in the hours / there was a wrong calculation / etc..
No… because in FarmVille (currently) days are 23 hours! (and even on Earth a day is 23 hours and 56 minutes and not 24 hours).
Farmville gives the following explanations for this:
1) on the support pages:
A day in Farmville is 23 hours long, that’s just enough time to tend to your fields and get some rest. While life in the country is a bit slower than city life there is still much to be done on a Farm. You’ll want to stay on top of it or you’ll lose your crops. Plan when and what you plant wisely.
Nice to to know: originally it was even 22 hours as RayThorCai (developer) indicates on 22 june 2009:
And possibly before that it was based on the 20 hours time schedule from the game Farm Town which was "the basis" for FarmVille (which explains the reason):
So "the why" should be originally looked in as "why is a Farm Town day 20 hours" (and I don’t know why a day in Farm Town is 20 hours!).
